Mark Anderson founded the construction and development company, Anderson, in 1987 with an ethos based on honesty, capability and thinking differently.

He led the growth of the business from groundworks contractor to award-winning developer and also established the Anderson Foundation for charitable works – using these very same principals.

In fact, Mark’s approach when he set up the foundation was unique in that he wanted to be more involved than the majority of charitable benefactors. Having supported various causes and facilitated fundraising previously, Mark knew just how vital it was for supporters to be able to see their donations reach the causes they are interested in and for it to have the impact it deserved.

With funds limited by nature and causes innumerable, it was this desire to find value-based, impactful work that led to the founding of the Anderson Foundation.

Mark wanted to ensure that money raised at its charity functions made it to those who needed it most and that every penny counted.

In choosing this pathway, Mark has been instrumental in making decisions about which organisations to support and how, meaning the Foundation builds valuable relationships with partner charitable organisations.

Mark Anderson now spends much of his time overseeing the well supported and attended fundraising events that have benefitted a host of local and national campaigns.

"Before we agree to raise money for a charity, I like to visit them to get a complete understanding of how they operate and whether the Anderson Foundation's ethos would align with theirs."
